I haven't tasted Taylors Ham since 1963 or 68, but I grew up in Cliffwood Beach NJ, and when we had money Mom bought a roll of Taylors Ham, and we fried it to put on a sandwich. I always loved that stuff. I just found you Web site, and ordered some, I can't wait to fry me up a few sandwichs, and introduce my children and Grandchildren to Taylors Ham.

Born & raised in Philly; moved to Naples FL '83; moved to Summerland Key, FL Keys in '93; I finally found MY Pork Roll in a Key West Publix store; I am currently cruising & in Palmetto, FL & bought it in the Publix here; make it like my mom did; REAL butter in fry pan; fry the pork roll - add more butter if needed; when done, take regular white bread & smather it in the butter till bread is soggy; add cheese & mustard (I use Nance's) TO DIE FOR !!

There are four things that are absolutely great about NJ...tomatoes, corn, Italian sausage and Taylor Ham. When I visit NJ, I always bring back Itilian sausage and Taylor Ham.

this is amazing and fun after all these years to read that others have the same desire to know why they remember a product but aren't sure if it really existed! I grew up in west babylon, L.I. and always reached for the Taylor Ham in the box when I went with my mother to food shop! I knew it tasted like a kind of salami but bigger and just right for the bread size! Thanks for being there!

It will always be "pork roll" to me. I have always lived in southern NJ and didn't know it was a regional food - I thought the whole world ate pork roll!

Being born and raised in NJ, I can tell you that you really miss certain things like Taylor Ham!! I have a butcher out here in CA that gets Taylor Ham in and sells it. It does really well out here and I have had several friends try it and they love it. Now I am really glad that I found this site!!! Yeah :)
