Raised in Cranford in the 60's; it was always "pork roll". Anyone who called it "Taylor Ham" drank tea with their little finger extended and was probably named Thurston Howell IV. It was used as an emergency substitute when you ran out of kielbasa from the Hungarian butcher in New Brunswick.

I am a Jersey girl, born and bred, but have lived outside the state, in NH, for many years. I grew up in Neptune and we called it pork roll and it is, far and away, my favorite sandwich, especially on a hard roll. I haven't had one in so long and I am thrilled to have come upon your website. I am going to surprise my Mom and Dad (both 87 and NJ natives, also living in NH) with a family favorite. Thanks for the memories and the pork roll!

Taylor ham is the best without question. It was years without after I left jersey to go to Nam and later move to ft laud, but it's here and I eat about 3 lbs. a month with family.
thanks
jim

Although born and raised in Dallas (a tragic mistake), my mother was from Asbury Park NJ. I technically refer to myself as half Jersey! My grandmother and uncle would bring Taylor Ham to us every year and I miss having it so much! I'm so glad to have found this site and can't wait to surprise my brother and sister! Thank you for making this available!

I'm a born and bred Jersey girl living in the countryside outside of Houston, Tx. Sometimes you don't know where the road of life will take you... Anyway, love your site, and linked ya on my blog, cause I have been craving my one time only-food-ingested diet of Taylor Pork Roll, and I'm so glad I found you guys! Great day to you...

I just made pork roll egg and cheese on hash browns for lunch. Way too good. Hawaiian's eat a lot of Spam. I think someone needs to introduce them to pork roll.

i am about to die from cholesterol overload. My man Nic the ECO Chef just made fried eggs and Taylor ham covered in cheese and tabasco, served on a bagel and garnished with PikNik shoestring potatoes. Now we're having dessert- a gallon of ice cream, eaten with the same fork with which we ate the Taylor ham masterpiece. If i live thru the night, it will be a miracle. My dad died of heart trouble and diabetes.

Daddy- i'm coming home!!

(ps- it's 4am!!!!!!!)
